About Me

Hi, I’m Alison Kelly, PsyD, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (FL License # PY13160 and IL License #071.022708) and the founder of Calm & Connected Mental Health Services.

I’m passionate about helping adolescents (14+) and adults feel more grounded, understood, and connected—to themselves, their experiences, and the people around them. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your experiences openly and without judgment.

Together, we’ll work to better understand what you’re going through while building practical, meaningful tools to support lasting change. I take a thoughtful, collaborative, and individualized approach to therapy because I believe each person’s experiences, strengths, and story are unique—and treatment should reflect that.

My Education , Training, & Specialties

I earned my Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Adler University in Chicago, IL (2019–2024). I completed my APA-accredited internship at the Mental Health Center of Florida and my postdoctoral training through the Department of Veterans Affairs. I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Florida and Illinois (PY13160 & 071.022708) and provide virtual therapy services to adults and teens (14+) across both states.

My clinical training includes experience across a wide range of settings, including community mental health, medical and hospital systems, primary care, assisted living facilities, private practice, and inpatient psychiatric care. I have worked with diverse populations across the lifespan and collaborated closely with multidisciplinary teams, allowing me to provide thoughtful, comprehensive care that considers both mental and physical health.

I specialize in working with adolescents (14+) and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, chronic pain and illness, women’s health concerns, trauma and trauma-related concerns, sleep disturbances (including insomnia), relationship challenges, academic stress, and life transitions. I offer evidence-based, individualized therapy to help you better understand your experiences, build effective coping strategies, and improve overall emotional well-being and balance.

My Approach to Therapy

My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based interventions. I tend to take a mind and body approach by recognizing that the pair are very well interconnected and emotional stress often shows itself through the body. But more importantly, I believe the therapeutic experience should be tailored and adjusted to each person’s individual needs and strengths.

At the core of my approach is the belief that we are human first. Every person brings unique identities, values, cultures, and lived experiences into therapy, and those differences matter. I believe therapy is most effective when it honors each individual’s story and creates a place where you feel respected, understood, and empowered.
